Allison Iraheta: Friday I’ll Be Over U LYRICS, official video

She has come a long way from finishing fourth in American Idol. Prior to Idol, Iraheta won the Telemundo competition Quinceañera: Mamá Quiero Ser Artista. Iraheta has been frequently praised for her powerful vocals and her distinctive “rock star” image. Following the conclusion of Idol, Iraheta was signed to a record deal with 19 Entertainment and Jive Records. And out of this venture came her debut single Friday I’ll be Over U which was released on October 5, 2009 and was made available through digital distribution on November 3, 2009. Her debut album, Just Like You, will come out on December 1.

Who will win Entertainer of the Year in the 2009 CMA awards? Who will win Male Vocalist of the Year? Will Taylor Swift win Female Vocalist of the Year, or Entertainer of the Year? Those are just some of the questions on country music fans as the big night approaches. With less than forty-eight hours to go before the official announcement, fans are understandably excited.
Brad Paisley has dominated the nominations this year with six, followed by Keith Urban, Jamey Johnson, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Zac Brown
Band with four nods each. But two names are being watched this year: Kenny Chesney and Taylor Swift.
Kenny Chesney has dominated the Entertainer of the Year award, the highest honor, for the past several years and, rumors are, he is again the front runner this year. Taylor Swift, meanwhile, is the most successful country music artist this year in record sales. She beat out every living artist with more than 3 million copies of her Fearless CD sold and still counting. The album remains No. 3 after 51 weeks on the charts! And her ticket sales are phenomenal as well. Will she challenge Chesney for the highest honor of the night?

It’s something different from the other videos they have come out with according to Chris Daughtry. “It was different than what we’re use to because we usually just get in there and perform.” He adds, “But I have a role in this particular video. I had to shoot some hopefully convincing scenes. It is capturing our life on the road,” Chris added. “We deal with having to connect at home and manage that while we’re doing our job on the road – at the same time. The video shows

American Music Awards (AMA) nominations/nominees 2009

Another awards organization is set to give out its list of distinguished nominations soon. One of the music industry’s biggest and coveted awards will the announcing its list of nominations in a couple of days’ time. And tasked to read them out will be two alums of American Idol – last season’s runner up Adam Lambert and past judge Paula Abdul. Along with Snoop Dogg, the alum and former judge of American Idol will reveal those vying for the awards Tuesday, October 13 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The AMAs were created by Dick Clark in 1973 to compete with the Grammys after the move of that year’s show to Nashville, Tennessee led to CBS picking up the Grammy telecasts after its first two in 1971 and 1972 were broadcast on ABC. Nominations are presented in eight categories: Pop/Rock, Country, Soul/Rhythm & Blues, Rap/Hip Hop, Latin Music, Alternative Music, Contemporary Inspirational and Adult Contemporary categories. While the Grammys are awarded based on votes by members of the entertainment industry, the AMAs are determined by a poll of music buyers, and as a result is more of a representative of public opinion.

debut single: Adam Lambert Time for Miracles video / lyrics

“We wanted to match how epic the film is. We want the song to really reach out and grab people by the heart. So, it’s definitely the focus.” That’s how Adam Lambert described his debut single to be released very soon. And the film he is talking about is no other than 2012, the disaster film set to open in 2010 where the single Time for Miracles is part of the soundtrack.
Anticipation for Adam Lambert’s first single is high after his phenomenal performances during and since American Idol where he emerged as the top favorite and first runner up. There have been
rumors earlier as to what this debut single would be until it was announced that Time for Miracles will be it. According to a Wikipedia entry, Time for Miracles is composed by Adam Lambert himself and will be released on October 20. It will be available on Amazon on October 16. (Correction: As noted by Bo below, the song is composed by Enio Morricone and not by Adam Lambert as noted in the Wikipedia entry.)

Journey, Arnel Pineda on Oprah (interview/performance VIDEO)

Don’t stop believing. That’s the message of Oprah on Monday as the show focuses on the individuals who persevered despite the trials and setbacks, and ended up successful in their chose n fields, living their dream.
“He sang on the streets for food…until his YouTube video hit the Internet!” That’s the story of Arnel Pineda, Journey band lead singer who was discovered by Neil Schon on YouTube just like what happened to another Filipino YouTube discovery, Charice
Pempengco.
Arnel Pineda was born and raised in the Philippines. His mother, through her love of music, raised him to love music as well. at a young age, he joined singing contests to improve his singing and raise money for the family as well. At 13, he lost his mother to heart disease leaving the family in debt. Arnel Pineda had to live with relatives and fend for himself on the streets on Manila. For about two years his life was spent out on the streets, sleeping wherever he could: in public parks, or on a narrow bench outside a friend’s crowded house. Arnel earned meager money by collecting glass bottles, newspapers, and scrap metal and selling them to recyclers. He would also go to the pier with his friends and take on odd jobs like cleaning scrap metal and docked ships. He didn’t have much to eat, sometimes rationing a small package of biscuit as his meal for two days. Despite all these hardships Arnel Pineda tried to remain optimistic about his future.
At fifteen, he formed a band with his friends. And that started his journey towards a singing career in the Philippines, singing in clubs and various events. His bad eventually made it abroad where they sang in hotels and clubs in Hong Kong. One of the bands he formed was the Zoo band where he sang cover songs by Journey, Survivor, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Air Supply, The Eagles, Kenny Loggins and other popular acts from the 70s, 80s and 90s. Videos of their performances eventually made it to YouTube and that’s where Neil Schon found him, at that time looking for a lead singer for Journey. And the rest, as they say, is history.
