It seems like falling on stage while performing is de rigeur nowadays. Days after the now-memorable falls of Adam Lambert and Jennifer Lopez at the 2009 American Music Awards, another performer has done so, twice. Yes, twice in one song! Who is it? Lady Gaga, no less. The pop diva was performing at a concert in Montreal on Friday when the incident happened.

The first slip happened early in the performance when her feet slipped and she fell on her butt. Quickly recovering, she continued her song (don’t know the title of this on) but two minutes later, it
happened again. But this time it was just a small trip and she did not fall on her butt like the first time.

The American Music Awards have always had good performances. And it was a good venue to promote a new release as well. With millions watching, any new single/song release gets a free audience. And thus, Jennifer Lopez used the occasion to promote her latest single and sort of comeback song Louboutins. But the performance didn’t go as planned.

During the performance, she was walking on the backs of her dancers who stood in line as stairs steps and she slipped. She fell on her butt in front of millions of viewers (and with some laughing I’m
sure). She recovered quickly though. But it was obvious from then on that she was lip synching.

2009 American Music Awards (AMA) winners / results list

Who will win this years American Music Awards. That’s the foremost question in music fans’ minds as the annual awards ceremony gets underway in Los Angeles in a few hours. Attended by the biggest names in the industry, the awards show will be a spectacle as performances from guest stars will definitely headline the event.
