firmware download release timeWhen is the release time of the Apple iPhone 3.0 software update? What time can we download this latest firmware version? That’s what seems to be on every iPhone user’s mind. It has been announced that the iPhone 3.0 OS update will be available on the Apple site today but no definite time has been given. However, judging from past Apple download, updates are usually released around noon or thereabouts Pacific time in the United States
so it may be wise to have this in mind. The upgrade will be available simultaneously throughout the world. Moreover, users are reminded that download is available for free to existing iPhone users but it won’t be so for iPod Touch users. Upgrades for them will cost an additional $9.95.

A host of added features come with this upgrade, in time with the release of the iPhone 3G S in a few days time. Among these are the following: Recent Calls now shows more details (call length, etc); Ability to change/set “own number” (my number) in the SIM Card. Will be displayed in the Contacts list and iTunes, as well as possibly used for MMS identification.
