The web is abuzz with the latest development on the balloon boy saga. One day after the incident that started it all, when a boy was believed to have been in a runaway giant helium balloon floating over Colorado, the public’s interest in the boy and his family has not died down. On the contrary, Falcon Heene, the balloon boy, and his family has attracted more attention than before.

This was after speculation started to circulate that the whole thing was staged, a publicity stunt to attract attention as the family was reportedly pitching for a reality show. This speculation was bolstered because of the “we did it for the show” slip of Falcon on cam when interviewed yesterday.

Despite denials and several TV interviews, the issue of a publicity stunt has not died down. This was probably what prompted Richard Heene, the balloon boy’s father to announce that he would be talking to the press later today. What about, we don’t know. Will he further deny the hoax claim, or will he finally admit it? We’ll know when the press conference goes live later today.
