That line was made famous by Johnny Castle, the lead character in the movie Dirty Dancing in 1987. Sadly, the actor that played Johnny Castle in that movie is now dead. Patrick Swayze is dead at 57. Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer after a almost two-year battle with the disease that saw him fighting it till the very end.

“Nobody puts Baby in a corner”. In Dirty Dancing, “Nobody puts Baby in a Corner” (not “Nobody puts Baby in the corner) was uttered by Swayze’s character after he returns to the resort to do the final dance and found Baby (Jennifer Grey) sitting at a
back table with her family. Though that line became famous after the movie was shown, it was the dance that catapulted him to stardom. That dance has been described as the most goose bump inducing dance sequence in movie history.

Though he knew his time was limited after discovering the deadly disease a couple of years ago, he fought hard against it. He continued to work despite the effects of cancer and its treatment – painful chemotherapy. He reportedly opted not to use painkilling drugs while making The Beast because they would have taken the edge off his performance. In an interview with Barbara Walters, Swayze acknowledged that time might be running out given the grim nature of the disease. “I’d say five years is pretty wishful thinking,” Swayze said. “Two years seems likely if you’re going to believe statistics. I want to last until they find a cure, which means I’d better get a fire under it.”

This was the official statement released by Patrick Swayze’s reps on his death: “Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months.”
