Wasn’t it just two days ago that I saw him interviewed on television regarding his weight gain for a film? Isn’t he supposed to be attending the Venice Film Festival or some film event in Europe at the moment? “Matt Damon is dead”. According to internet rumors, Matt Damon was found dead and died while camping at California’s Palo Verde mountain area on Wednesday. Hmm, I smell another hoax here.

The reports further states that the source of the news was TMZ. Well, that’s what they usually do – attribute rumors to a credible source to add
credence to the news. But upon checking TMZ, I found no recent entry on Matt Damon much less his reported death. In fact, what I found in other sites are reports that the actor really is in Europe for a film festival. So how can he be camping in California this week?

Just like past celebrity death hoaxes, many of us have been duped again. But this time, this rumor was shot down before it spread like the Lil Wayne rumor last year, when the perpetrator gained mileage by posting the “news” on a BBC website copy. When will it end and who will be the next victim?

Oops, I spoke to soon. Looks like they found another victim. Shawn Johnson death rumors are rising up the search charts as I write this.
