Mackenzie Phillips dropped a bombshell in her interview with Oprah recently. On a book tour for the promotion of her book, High on Arrival, which hits the stores this week, the former One Day at a Time star revealed that he had s*x with her father. In fact, the two had an inc*stous relationship for about ten years, according to her. Phillips’ father was John Phillips of The Mamas and The Papas. He died in 2001.

According to Mackenzie, “On the eve of my wedding, my father showed up, determined to
stop it. I had tons of pills, and Dad had tons of everything too. Eventually I passed out on Dad’s bed.”

“My father was not a man with boundaries. He was full of love, and he was sick with drugs. I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having s*x with my own father.” She said she later confronted him about it, “We have to talk about how you ra**d me,” to which he responded, “You mean when we made love?”

With these revelations, the book will surely sell. But wait, there’s more. How about Mackenzie Phillips and Mick Jagger? Mackenzie Phillips also reveals being seduced by Mick Jagger at 13. Can’t wait to know more about the other details we may find in the book.

Update: Do you believe all these revelations? Some may doubt Mackenzie Phillips’ family secret bombshell. While Oprah’s interview with Mackenzie Phillips about the family secret may have more doubters than believers, Chynna Phillips is not one of them. Chynna Phillips, John’s daughter with Michelle Phillips and Mackenzie’s half sister said she believes the story. She tells US magazine about the time she first found out about it, in between flight at La Guardia in 1997, 11 years after the affair had ended:

“She said, ‘I don’t know why, but I just really felt the need to call you and tell you something that I think you need to know,’” Chynna tells Us Weekly. “And she went on to tell me that she had had an incestuous relationship with our dad for about 10 years.”

“Somebody could have dropped a piano on my head and I probably wouldn’t have felt it,” the singer tells Us Weekly. “But I knew it was true. I mean, who in their right mind would make such a claim if it wasn’t true?”
