US Open 2009 results: Fereder vs Djokovic (video highlights)
At last, the 2009 US Open tennis men’s semifinals will finally push through, this after several rain delays caused the postponement of the several matches including Rafael Nadal’s encounter with Fernando Gonzales that started on a Thursday and ended on Saturday. The semifinals will pit Roger Federer against Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal against Argentinian Juan Martin Del Potro.
If you ask many tennis fans, they’ll say the Roger Federer will win his semifinal match quite easily. But stranger things have happened in
tennis, with the Serena Williams vs Kim Clijsters the most recent, and Roger’s match will definitely not be a cake walk for the Swiss ace. Though Federer holds the edge in their previous encounters, with the last match won just last month in Cincinnati, it is worthy to note that Djokovic has beaten Roger twice earlier this year. And, as I said earlier, stranger things have happened. Though It is quite impossible for Federer to lose his cool like Serena did, Djokovic possesses the skills to beat Roger just like what Kim did with Serena.
Roger Federer on win streak at the US Open and, definitely, that streak will end sometime. But I hope it won’t be this year. I hope to see Roger go to the finals and win his sixth straight US Open title. The Federer vs Djokovic US Open 2009 match (results, video highlights to follow) is almost here. Get the Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic results and video here when we post it right after the match, and see who will advance to the finals to meet the winner of the Rafael Nadal vs Juan Martin Del Potro semifinal.
Roger Federer punctuated his latest U.S. Open victory Sunday with a shot he called, quite simply, the greatest of his life: a between-the-legs, back-to-the-net, cross-court winner from the baseline.
A point later, with the crowd in hysterics and opponent Novak Djokovic still in shock, the world’s top-ranked player closed out the victory, 7-6 (3), 7-5, 7-5, to move one win from his sixth straight U.S. Open title.
