The 2009 Fall season has claimed its first casualty. After only two episodes, The CW has axed The Beautiful Life, the Mischa Barton starrer and Ashton Kutcher produced television drama about young models living in New York. The reason? Dismal ratings for its first two episodes: the premiere last September 16 only managed to draw in 1.4 million viewers, and its second episode barely managed above 1 million viewers. Now, that is disastrous!

The series stars Mischa Barton, Corbin Bleu, Elle Macpherson and Sara Paxton. It revolves
around a group of male and female models sharing a residence in New York. Six full episodes were produced, while the cancellation came during the filming of the seventh episode.

The Beautiful Life was cancelled after two episodes. Before it was cancelled, The Beautiful Lie would have been The Beautiful Life episode 3 to be shown next week. Here is a last look at what would have been episode 3:

Sonja is being hounded by the press about a risque photo which forces her to consider quitting the modeling business. Aware of the chemistry between Raina and Cole, Claudia secures a campaign for a major clothing line for the two. Raina struggles with the public image she must maintain with Cole, while her true feelings are for Chris. Raina’s family drama finds its way back into her life and she finally faces her father. Isaac’s relationship with Vivienne is strained when he is surprisingly replaced, by Chris during a photo shoot. Raina’s brother, Alex (guest star Billy Magnussen, “As the World Turns”), lands himself in a bit of trouble with the Russian mob, but Marissa comes to his rescue.
