Wimbledon men’s final 2009 video: Federer vs Roddick highlights
The 2009 Wimbledon men’s singles final (video replay/highlights below) between Roger Federer and Andy Roddick is being talked about. More than twelve hours after the epic battle, many fans of both players just can’t believe what happened, how it all unfolded.
Roger Federer won the Wimbledon 2009 men’s title by beating Andy Roddick in a classic match described by many as probably the best in recent years. It has even surpassed the epic fight of last year when Rafael Nadal denied Federer a record-setting sixth straight Wimbledon title.
Many of us feel sorry for Andy Roddick. He gave everything to win his second Grand Slam but still came up short. In fact, he dominated the game, denying the Swiss champion a break until the decider. But the true champion that Roger is hung in there and kept his composure, and that proved to be what gave him the win. His perseverance and determination paid off. If only both could be given the title that’s what should have been done, because Roddick’s performance was well worthy of it.
There were times when I couldn’t watch the Wimbledon 2009 men’s final coverage. The tension was too much for me especially during the fifth set tie-break. I turned the set off several times and only returned after I knew the results from online live blogs. It’s a good thing video replays / highlights are available. For those of you who didn’t watch this classic battle. here are a few videos I found online.
