Tour de France 2009 Stage 4 results: Armstrong now 2nd overall
The 2009 Tour de France Stage 4 results are in and our American readers will be very happy with this news. Lance Armstrong has moved to second place overall by virtue of his team, Astana’s, great performance in this stage.
It was team time trial around Montpellier with the cyclists pedalling their way around a 39 kilometer course. Emerging victorious at this Stage was Team Astana. Second place went to Team Garmin-Slipstream while Fabian Cancellara’s Team Saxo Bank came in third.
In the overall Tour de France 2009 standings after four stages, Fabian Cancellara is still leading the pack with a combined time of 10:38:07. Now in second place is Lance Armstrong while teammate Alberto Contador is is third. Watch out for the next stage as the race heats up. Will Lance be in first place after Stage 5?
