Dallas car chase | High speed car chase video June 29, 2009

A high-speed car chase in Dallas, Texas is the current toast of the internet. Caught on video by news crews on helicopter, it was like watching a movie from the front row. However, what makes this one much better than watching a movie is knowing that this is for real, with a real felon on the wheel, real police officers chasing the car and true-to-life car crashes!
The car chase in Dallas reportedly started in Mesquite at a routine traffic stop. The driver, reportedly wanted on several felonies, then led the police out of Mesquite and to the Dallas-Fort Worth area,
speeding through highways, avoiding spike strips and crashing into several traffic signs. The chase ended when the driver plowed several cars at a stop, ran through the intersection and hit by an oncoming pick up truck. The car was a wreck and it was a spectacular crash. This is what the audience actually look forward to, the climax. He he.

HBO’s Hung premiere (episode 1): watch Hung pilot episode

HBO premieres a new comedy series entitled Hung. If the title sounds like what you think it is, you’re right. In the series pilot (episode 1), we are introduced to our hero, Ray Drecker played by Thomas Jane. He is the local basketball coach and high school teacher who seems to be down on his luck – his wife has left him for another man and fire burns down his house. Seemingly at the end of his rope, he tries to use his God-given assets to turn things around, and from the title alone (Hung), you know what it is.
Years ago in high school, Ray Drecker was athletic, popular, and destined for success. Now, as a high school teacher and basketball coach, he’s underpaid, uninsured, and embittered that his wife of 20 years has left him for her dermatologist. After a fire damages the rundown Detroit home he inherited from his parents, Ray’s fortunes reach an all-time low when his twin children, who had been living with him, move in with their mom and her clean-freak hubby. Lonely, run-down and at wit’s end, Ray attends a local self-help class whose mantra is to identify a personal “winning tool” to market for financial success. After a not-so-fulfilling encounter with a fellow attendee – an ex-flame and would-be poet named Tanya – Ray has a “eureka” moment. With the help of Tanya, Ray resolves to take advantages of his greatest asset, in hopes of changing his fortune in a big way.

meet Pabst, The World’s Ugliest Dog for 2009 (pictures/photos)

Pabst is the new title-holder of World’s Ugliest Dog for 2009. The boxer mix with a very prominent under-bite captured the ugliest dog title from last year’s winner Rascal, a pedigree Chinese Crested. For his prize, Pabst took home $1,600 in prize money, pet supplies and a modeling contract with House of Dog.
World’s Ugliest Dog Contest is an annual contest held in California to decide which of the dogs entered in the contest is the ugliest, a not so flattering title but a title anyway. The contest is a spoof of conformation shows which select the most perfect dogs.
Posted below are some photos of the other entries in the contest, and I van say they are all worthy of the title. I’m no dog lover and looking at these pictures I know I made the right choice. (photos courtesy of Yahoo News)

But who knows, anything can happen. The Americans’ win against Spain in the semis is proof of that.

the Michael Jackson TIME Magazine special edition: a tribute

TIME Magazine rarely comes out with a Special Commemorative Edition but with the untimely death of a music icon such as Michael Jackson, it has no choice but to come up with a worthy tribute.
Due out later this week, the TIME special edition feature the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, on the cover and tackles a wide array of issues inside. For one, it provides an in-depth look at the circumstances surrounding his death and what may have led to this tragedy. Of course, a King of Pop tribute would not be complete without looking into the
music of Michael, from the time he was part of the Jackson 5 to his solo career, and the massive contribution this has brought to popular music.
The last time the magazine came out with a special edition in between weekly issues was in the days following 9/11. The human tragedy called for it. Now, though only one person has died compared to the thousands who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks, the effect is seemingly the same.

John Hamm and the rest of the cast will be back for more in season two. Mad Men season 2 promises to be bigger and better. Take a look at what ‘Mad Men’ has to offer in the new season through the half-a-minute promo released at the end of ‘Breaking Bad’. Here are some spoilers: “The second season ended with 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis where the Sterling Cooper ad men were fearing to lose their jobs amid the nuclear war. Since the story line reflects many actual happenings in the real world, there is a chance that the third season will jump two years ahead to 1964. Creator Matthew Weiner said that he did not want to explore the John F. Kennedy assassination that occurred in 1963.
In the end of season 2, Betty also came clean about her pregnancy. Weiner has confirmed that it would be her husband, Don’s, baby despite that fact that she slept with a random guy at a bar. There will also be a fresh face when the show returns. Jared Harris, whose credit includes “Fringe”, will join the cast as the new chief financial officer at Sterling Cooper.”

NBA Draft 2009 results: list of NBA first & second round picks

Looking for the 2009 NBA Draft picks? Held at the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, the NBA Draft 2009 was televised live last night over ESPN as we witnessed the Los Angeles Clippers select Blake Griffin as the No. 1 picks this year. This was followed by the Memphis Grizzlies who chose UConn center Hasheem Thabee and the Oklahoma City Thunder picking James Harden from Arizona State.
Ricky Rubio, touted early on as one of the top picks this season emerged as the fifth to be drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves, preceded by
Tyreke Evans as the fourth picked by the Sacramento Kings. Find out who were drafted to the NBA last night from the list below.

Farrah Fawcett dead: former Charlie’s Angel Fawcett dies at 62

Farrah Fawcett is dead. The former Charlie’s Angel died after a two-year battle with cancer in Santa Monica, California. Earlier, there were reports that family and friends gathered beside her as her case worsened and last rites were administered to the devout Catholic star. Now, news of her death is being reported and later confirmed by her spokesman, Paul Bloch.
Farrah Fawcett was a bright television star in the seventies and eighties whose brilliance was only probably eclipsed by her enigmatic smile. When she flashed those pearly whites you could
never take your eyes off her. Thrust into television stardom by the series Charlie’s Angels, she quickly became a household name. Farrah was also famous for he golden hair. The Farrah haircut was copied by women all over the world. From Charlie’s Angels, she went on to become a critically acclaimed actress, appearing off-Broadway and in highly rated television movies such as The Burning Bed, Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story, Poor Little Rich Girl: The Barbara Hutton Story, and Margaret Bourke-White)

What did Danielle try to do to Dina on Real Housewives? (video)

What did Danielle try to do to Dina? That is the question on everyone’s mind after watching part 2 of The Real Housewives on New Jersey’s Reunion. The “outcast” housewife must have done something horrible to Dina (or at least tried to) for Caroline to describe it as “disgraceful”.
There are many speculations as what it is with some ranging from the really horrible (Danielle had attempted to put out a hit on Dina) to the somewhat trivial (Danielle paid the colorist to give Dina a bad dye job). However, nothing was revealed on the show
after it ended. Was nothing really revealed or did they just purposely leave it hanging as a teaser for something more?
Fortunately, Danielle Staub left the following in her blog. This may be the answer we are looking for: “As for the end of the Reunion, when Caroline said such horrible things to me, I had no idea at the time what “disgraceful” acts she was referring to. I only found out later what she was talking about, from someone in her own family. I simply gave a phone number to her ex brother-in-law to contact proper people with questions that he had concerning something that was absolutely none of my business. I was asked to give this information to him. If I had to do it again, I would have declined and preferred not to get involved. But I think my minimal involvement did not justify Caroline’s behavior towards me.”

Michael Jackson’s cause of death: Demerol overdose? (video)

Was Michael Jackson’s death due to an overdose of Demerol? According to reports, Jackson collapsed after an injection of Demerol. The pop icon has been rumored to be taking pain relief drugs because of various reported illnesses and an overdose of this may have led to death. There were also rumors that he was secretly addictive to pain killers but these remain unconfirmed.
The Sun reports that Jackson aides at the emergency room were overheard telling doctors that he collapsed after an injection of Demerol, a drug
similar to morphine. Furthermore, The Sun reports the following account from its sources:
“Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing.
“His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.
“His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes “But found he was in full respiratory arrest, no breathing and no pulse. They started full CPR and rushed him to hospital.
“When he arrived they started resuscitation, giving him heart shocks and inserted a breathing tube and other supportive measures to try and save his life.
“He never regained consciousness.The family was told that he had passed.”
The King of Pop was pronounced dead at around 2:26 PM in Los Angeles after doctors failed to revived despite an hour of trying. Initial reports say he died of cardiac arrest but this may be debunked by autopsy findings. The autopsy will be done Friday morning in Los Angeles and results are expected in the afternoon at the earliest.
