NASCAR driver Kevin Grubb found dead in motel room

kevin grubb nascar, kevin grubb diesNASCAR driver Kevin Grubb, younger brother of Wayne Grubb, is dead. He was found dead in a motel in Richmond, Virginia. Kevin Grubb was under suspension from NASCAR competition due to two violations in NASCAR’s substance abuse policy at the time of his sudden death. The 31-year old was suspended from competing in NASCAR sanctioned events after refusing to submit to a drug test in September 2006, following a crash at Richmond International Raceway.

Police said Grubb was discovered at the Alpine Motel in Richmond at around 11:30 a.m. The exact time of death has not been established and the cause of death has not been
released pending the notification of next to kin. However, police said no foul play was suspected. Kevin Grubb is a native of Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Kevin Grubb had a history substance abuse at NASCAR, all resulting to suspensions. In March of 2004, Grubb failed a mandatory substance abuse test that lead to a suspension. He was reinstated into NASCAR in June 2006. Reportedly, one of the conditions of his reinstatement into NASCAR was random, unannounced drug tests. Kevin Grubb then participated in five Busch events before being suspended indefinitely on September 11, 2006 when he refused to take a drug test following a crash at Richmond.

The following day, Grubb claimed a concussion suffered during the race was the cause of his failure to take the test. He said this resulted to his confusion, and offered to take a drug test then. Grubb was cleared by the infield hospital following the crash. Kevin Grubb claimed no memory of the refusal to submit to a drug test. His first race for NASCAR was the 1997 U.S. Cellular 200 in New Hampshire and his last was the 2006 Emerson Radio 250 in Richmond.

No Surprise Lyrics and Video by Chris Daughtry band

no surprise, daughtry no surprise lyrics, no surprise videoChris Daughtry and his band (named Daughtry) performed their new song on American Idol at last night Top 4 results show. Entitled “No Surprise”, the song is their first single from their second studio album entitled “Leave This Town”. Chris Daughtry wrote this song with Chad Kroeger from Nickelback, in addition to Eric Dill and Rune Westberg.

Already, “No Surprise” by Daughtry has had great success. The band began streaming “No Surprise” on their official website, the evening of May 5, 2009. The song was made available on iTunes May 5, and will officially impact U.S. radio on May 6, 2009. This is a great follow up to the band’s self-titled (Daughtry) first album which was the biggest selling album of 2007 with
sales of more than 4,422,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan. At the American Idol results show last night, Ryan Seacrest awarded Chris Daughtry a commemorative plaque for selling 5 million units.

Daughtry was not the only performer at American idol last night. No Doubt together with Gwen Stefani also performed, as well as Paula Abdul who performed her latest single entitled “I’m Just Here for the Music”. This performance, however, has been panned online because Paula Abdul was reportedly lip syncing.

Posted below are the lyrics of “No Surprise” as well as a video of their American Idol performance.

No Surprise Lyrics by Chris Daughtry

I’ve practiced this for hours, gone round and round
And now I think that I’ve got it all down
And as I say it louder I love how it sounds
Cause I’m not taking the easy way out
Not wrapping this in ribbons
Shouldn’t have to give a reason why…

It’s NO SURPRISE I won’t be here tomorrow
I can’t believe that I stayed till today
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we’ll find this was NO SURPRISE

It came out like a river once I let it out
When I thought that I wouldn’t know how
Held onto it forever just pushing it down
Felt so good to let go of it now
Not wrapping this in ribbons
Shouldn’t have to give a reason why

It’s NO SURPRISE I won’t be here tomorrow
I can’t believe that I stayed till today
There’s nothing here in this heart left to borrow
There’s nothing here in this soul left to say
Don’t be surprised when we hate this tomorrow
God know we tried to find an easier way
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we’ll find this was NO SURPRISE

Our favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The loving look that’s left your eyes
That’s why this comes as no, as NO SURPRISE

If I could see the future and how this plays out
I bet it’s better than where we are now
But after going through this, it’s easier to see the reason why

It’s NO SURPRISE I won’t be here tomorrow
I can’t believe that I stayed till today
Yeah you and I will be a tough act to follow
But I know in time we’ll find this was NO SURPRISE

The kiss goodnight, it comes with me
Both wrong and right, our memories
The whispering before we sleep, just one more thing that you can’t keep
Our favorite place we used to go
The warm embrace that no one knows
The loving look that’s left your eyes
But I know in time we’ll find this was NO SURPRISE

American Idol Top 3/Final 3 results: Goodbye, Allison Iraheta

allison iraheta voted off, allison iraheta eliminated, top 3 resultsWho got voted off American Idol tonight (5/6/09)? Who got eliminated from American Idol May 6? Who are the Top 3 / Final 3 of 2009? I’m afraid it’s goodbye to Allison Iraheta of Los Angeles as she was eliminated tonight. Despite a relatively strong performance in last night’s Rock Week performances, singing “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin, she got the least number of votes from the viewers of the popular reality-competition show. That leaves an all-male Top 3 for 2009: Adam Lambert, a 27-year-old theater actor originally from San Diego; Danny Goeky, a 29-year-old church music director from Milwaukee; and Kris Allen, a 23-year-old college student from Conway, Ark.

I was hoping for Allison Iraheta to be in the Final 3 but it was not to be. The last two were Danny Gokey and Allison and I was crossing my fingers that Danny would be voted off. His performance of Aerosmith’s “Dream On” last night was horrendous and I was hoping the voters would take that into account. But no, they still voted off Allison Iraheta.

This week, the three singers will travel to their hometowns before performing next week. Everyone’s singing two songs – one that the judges pick, the other their personal favorite. Kris Allen has got to sing his head off next week to get into the final two, otherwise it’s gonna be the expected Adam Lambert vs. Danny Gokey showdown. Let’s hope it will be Adam vs. Kris in the finals.

KidZui: what is KidZui and why are parents loving it?

Hot on the internet trends at present is KidZui (often mistaken as kudzui, kidzu, kudzu and kudzu.com). But what is KidZui and why are parents all over the world who have discovered it singing high praises? Well, because KidZui is an internet browser for kids, something will make parents at ease while their kids browse the internet for hours on end. Available for Windows, Mac and as a Firefox add-on, Kidzui allows for easy navigation through categories and large images for kids. But what’s even better is that the browser does not access the open Internet. KidZui uses teachers and parents to screen content and maintains a database of approved URLs. The KidZui browser can only access URLs in the approved database.

Here’s more about this internet browser from Wikipedia:

KidZui is a web browser designed for children developed by KidZui, Inc. The KidZui browser uses a Zooming User Interface paradigm to make browsing easier for children. Search results appear as scaled down images of websites, videos, and pictures that children click on to zoom in and see content. Children can also browse by category without typing search terms. The KidZui browser does not access the open Internet. KidZui uses teachers and parents to screen content and maintains a database of approved URLs. The KidZui browser can only access URLs in the approved database. KidZui claims to have over 800,000 approved websites, pictures, and videos available. Children build avatars called Zuis to represent themselves online. They earn points for web browsing and use points to gain levels and buy clothes and accessories for their Zuis. Children can share KidZui content with friends online. To add a friend online, children need to know the friends Zui name. There is no online directory of Zui names, so children need to get their friends Zui names offline in order to add them. Friends also need to be approved by parents before they become available in the browser. KidZui also tracks children’s Internet usage and sends reports to their parents on what their children looked at online.

KidZui is designed from children between the ages of 3 and 12 years old. KidZui has a focus on children’s online safety, but they also try to expand the content available to children online. Rather than using filters, KidZui trains and enlists parent and teachers to search out content that is appropriate for children even if it was not designed expressly for children. Websites that have been reviewed and approved by KidZui can carry a KidZui seal of approval that indicate the site’s content is appropriate for children. Websites that carry the seal agree to abide by KidZui’s content guidelines.

Eric Bledsoe chooses Kentucky: Press Conference video

eric bledsoe kentucky, eric bledsoe news conferenceHere’s the video of the the Eric Bledsoe press conference held recently in his hometown of Birmingham, Alabama where he announced that he has chosen the University of Kentucky Wildcats over Memphis Tigers. Ranked No. 3 point guard in the nation, Bledsoe reportedly visited both schools over the weekend before making his decision. Many thought he would choose Memphis over Kentucky as the no. 1 point guard, John Wall, is said to be favoring Kentucky as well. But Bledsoe still chose the University of Kentucky despite the possibility of sharing the point guard position with Wall.

Miss California Carrie Prejean’s SEX TAPE / lingerie pictures

carrie prejean pics, carrie prejean lingerieCarrie Prejean is in trouble. Ever since Carrie Prejean’s sexy lingerie pictures came out, gays and gay marriage activists have been asking for her head. They say Carrie Prejean’s lingerie picture is enough grounds for disqualifying her as Miss California. This is definitely a backlash of her anti-gay marriage stand to the questioned posed by blogger Perez Hilton during the Miss USA pageant two weeks ago. The controversy created by that incident has remained hot to this day.

Now Carrie Prejean’s lingerie pictures are making it hotter. But she contends that they were modeling shots taken when she was still in her teens, experimenting on modeling and that it’s the only one. There is no other Carrie Prejean lingerie pic out there. She believes she
did not violate her Miss California contract when she gave pageant officials assurance that she never posed semi-nude.

However, there are reports that more Carrie Prejean lingerie photos will come out in the coming days. TMZ reports that “though we haven’t published the four semi-nude pics that were sent to us (because Carrie claims she was 17 when they were taken), we can assure you she was not wearing a top and she was flaunting some side boob.”

If these are true, then Carrie Prejean is in deep sh**! The Miss California first runner-up should start making preparations for her time in the spotlight anytime soon. He he. No prejean lingerie pictures are posted here as she claims she was a minor when they were taken. Instead, other Carrie Prejean photos are posted below.

Videos: American Idol May 5, 2009 episode performances

american idol may 5Looking for the complete set of video performances for American Idol May 5, 2009? We have them here. It was Rock Week on American Idol and the Top 4 went on stage with guns ablaze, hopeful to deliver their best performances yet this season, and please the judges and the audience. However, the results were not that good for most of them in this episode.

It was Adam Lambert who delivered the best performance of the night, as always. His rendition of Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love (video below) earned him the accolades of the whole panel of judges. He was even called a “rock star” Randy Jackson but Kara DioGuardi made it even better by referring to him as a “rock god”!

The others didn’t fare very well. Though I expected that Danny Gokey and Kris Allen wouldn’t do very well with rock music, it was surprising that Allison Iraheta didn’t do very well. Her rendition of Janis Joplin’s Cry Baby was panned by the panel.

Watch the complete set of video performances of American Idol’s May 5, 2009 episode below, and see for yourself how the Top 4 did.

Obama, Biden new fave hamburger? Ray’s Hell Burger! (video)

obama biden hamburger, obama rays hell burgerLooks like Obama and Biden have a new hamburger haunt in Washington, DC – Rays Hell-Burger. Obama and Biden had lunch at the hamburger joint recently and it was heavily covered by the media, as always. And you know what that means, free advertisement for Ray’s Hell-Burger and that is very good for business.

But Ray’s Hell-Burger doesn’t really need it. It’s been getting very good reviews from the press ever since it was featured by the Washington Post’s Jane Black as the best burger in DC. In her feature she wrote:

For $6.95, you get a 10-ounce burger made of hand-trimmed prime beef (including juicy scraps from nearby Ray’s the Steaks), corn on the cob, and a slice of watermelon. There are only a few seats and no fries here. But who needs ‘em?

President Obama and VP reportedly came in like ordinary patrons. Well, not exactly. With a coterie of Secret Service Agents in tow, that’s not exactly ordinary. But they reported lined up like all the others, paid for their orders (though the cashier offered to comp Obama and party) and they waited for their numbers to be called.

And what did the two most powerful men in America order? For Biden, it was cheese burger with JalapeƱo peppers. And for Obama, “”Just a basic cheddar cheese burger. Medium-well. I just want mustard, no ketchup; do you got like a spicy mustard, or a Dijon mustard or somethin’ like that? Lettuce. Tomato.”

Looking for an online review of Ray’s Hell-Burger, I found the following at DC Foodies:

As you may have guessed, what really caught my attention was the impressive list of cheeses that Ray’s offers. Sure, you can get quality basics like Gruyere, Vermont cheddar, smoked mozzarella and Danish blue for $1, but you can also go all out and top your burger with imported Brie, Italian Taleggio or even Epoisses for $1.50 to $4 each. A hint: make sure to ask about what other cheeses and toppings are available when you get to the counter. Although Epoisses was not listed on the chalkboard when we visited, it was available to anyone who asked.

My burger was delicious, if a bit messy. The size of the patty is a blessing on the grill, allowing it to cook through and develop a dark, meaty crust without sacrificing the juicy, pink interior. Unfortunately, the size becomes a liability on the plate – Ray’s recommends cutting their burgers in half to make them more manageable. I did, but the burger’s juices still turned my bun to mush in minutes. It was a small price to pay for a depth of flavor that I haven’t experienced in any other burger here in Washington. The grilled corn on the cob and fresh sliced watermelon that accompany each burger free of charge gave the whole meal a great cook-out feel.

Video: Kris Allen “Come Together” (May 5 American Idol 8)

kris allen come together, beatles come together, kris allen video come togetherLooking for Kris Allen video performance of “Come Together”? The May 5 American Idol performance was Kris Allen’s entry in Rock Week but I’m afraid he came up short. He was struggling with the song and you can feel it as you listen to his rendition. Though he picked something relatively “mild” for Rock Week to suit his vocals, it was still not a good performance. My, Rock week seemed to have killed almost all the Top 4 American Idol finalists. Only Adam Lambert nailed it!

The judges were not pleased as well, with the exception of Randy Jackson. He said, “I appreciate you picking something that you can still be yourself…I enjoyed it.” The other three, meanwhile, were not a positive. Kara DioGuardi said, “You’re definitely the softer side
of rock and I can see that you tried to bring that tonight. But for me, this was not a great performance.”

Paula Abdul said: “You need to have a little more energy.” And Simon Cowell was in his usual sharp-tongued best: “I actually didn’t like it that much. It was rather like eating ice for lunch.”

Better luck next week, Kris Allen. Hope to see you in the finals.

Video: Kris Allen with “Come Together” by The Beatles

The Beatles: Come Together (Lyrics)

Here come old flattop he come grooving up slowly
He got joo-joo eyeball he one holy roller
He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please

He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football
He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola
He say “I know you, you know me”
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free
Come together right now over me

He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me

He roller-coaster he got early warning
He got muddy water he one mojo filter
He say “One and one and one is three”
Got to be good-looking ’cause he’s so hard to see
Come together right now over me

Top 4 Video: Allison Iraheta’s Cry Baby by Janis Joplin

allison iraheta cry baby, allison iraheta janis joplin video, allison iraheta may 5 videoAs it is Rock Week, I was expecting Allison Iraheta to nail it (along with Adam Lambert) but her “Cry Baby” by Janis Joplin was just okay for me. Maybe I was expecting more from her but the performance didn’t wow me. The vocals were above average but maybe it was not the right song for her. I don’t know. I was expecting something more like what Adam Lambert did with his Led Zeppelin song choice.

The judges weren’t that impressed either, at least not unanimously. Paula was her usual, making those predictable positive comments with every performance. Kara, on the other hand, saw Allison’s personality in her performance. Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell, meanwhile were on in their opinion that it was not the right
choice for her.

Cry Baby Lyrics sung by Janis Joplin

Cry-y-y … ha ha ha ha … baby, cry baby, cry baby,
Welcome back home.

I know she told you,
I know she told you that she loved you
Much more than I do,
But I know she left you,
And you swear that you just don’t know why,
Well, you know that I’ll always be round
If you ever want me
Come on and cry, cry baby, cry baby, cry baby, yeah,
Oh, like you always seem to do.

Don’t you know,
Honey, nobody ever gonna love you
The way I try to do.
Who’ll be willing to take your pain
And all your heartache, too ?
Honey, I swear I’ll always, I’ll always be around
If you ever want me
Come on and cry, cry baby, cry baby yeah, cry baby, yeah,
Oh daddy, welcome back home, yeah.

I know when you’re sharp and round, babe,
Seems like the grass always looks greener,
When you’re looking over there in somebody else’s back-yard
So I know what you’re tryin’ to tell me
When you say, mama, mama, mama, mama, mama,
I’ve gotta go out shopping for my life
I’ve gotta find my, my own true third eye,
Hare Krishna identity out there on the road there.

And although it may be comfortable here
Sleeping in all your nice bed with all those satin sheets
And all that nice fur, eatin’ all that chicken
Gettin’ stoned, havin’ a good time I have to go and rough it
I have to go to Africa
Or I have to go to Omaha, or some place like that,
I have to find myself, you know what I mean ?
So there’s this stud, man, walkin’ around the fuckin’ highways of America with a pack on his back
Lookin’ for his identity, right ?

Well, I want to say baby don’t you know you left your mama here all alone ?
You left your good lovin’ mama right at home
And that should be identity enough for any man, ha ha ha!
So I said baby, I know that you’re gonna come home to me some day
And I’ll be able to tell when you walk in my front door
I do, I just do believe that I can be lookin’ in your eyes
So Lord, you finally realize
So you can put your head on my shoulder, babe,
‘Cause I know you got some more tears to share,
Come on, let it go,
So come on, come on, come on, come on, come on,
Honey, cry, cry baby, cry baby, cry,

Honey when you got some more tears to shed
Honey I won’t let a man stand in your way, babe,
You have to snap all your fear from the door house away dear
You just gotta let it go, baby, come on,
Honey cry, oh, cry to me baby.
