John Krohn / Jonathan Krohn on Conservatism: CPAC speech

Jonathan Krohn (John Krohn) gave a speech on conservatism at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC)recently and immediately wowed the audience. In the address, he described the conservative principles outlined in his book, “Define Conservatism”, which he felt were becoming lost among some parts of the Republican Party. Many has since dubbed him as “the future of the Republican party”. The speech immediately became popular at the conference and got the attention of the media. From Sam Stein of The Huffington Post: “It was filled with the type of rhetorical flow and emotional pitch one would
expect from a seasoned hand. Except, Krohn is more than four years away from being able to vote.”

When interviewed after his speech, John Krohn / Jonathan Krohn had this to say about his choice of president in the future: “I would love to see Newt Gingrich,” he said. “But it’s impossible to see him up there. I don’t see him doing it. I would love Sarah Palin and Mitt Romney as well.”

Krohn wrote “Define Conservatism”, which published in 2008, when Krohn was 13 years old. The book outlines four fundamental principles of conservative thought: support for the United States Constitution, respect for life, less government and personal responsibility. Krohn went on to apply the principles to current events and define whether specifically cited actions violated those principles. The book was dedicated to Ronald Reagan, William F. Buckley, Jr. and Barry Goldwater, who Krohn describes as his political heroes, along with South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint. The book was written in part as a response to criticism John McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate, received regarding his conservative credentials.

Krohn was born on March 1, 1995 and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and was homeschooled. He played cello since age three and has been acting on the stage since age eight. In 2006, Krohn began performing on the Internet radio show “The Life Connection Show”, and took over as the principal writer in 2008. He also plays golf and banjo. In 2006, he was voted “Atlanta’s Most Talented Child” by Inside Edition.

Krohn became interested in politics at age eight, after watching news coverage of a Democratic filibuster in the United States Senate. The event prompted him to research American history and governmental rules and policies, and he eventually developed an affinity for conservatism, especially after listening regularly to conservative talk radio.

Bachelor on Jimmy Kimmel/Jason Mesnick Jimmy Kimmel video

Why did Jason Mesnick dump Melissa for Molly on The Bachelor? That’s what Jason Mesnick tried to explain to Jimmy Kimmel when he appeared on the latter’s show recently with a double purpose – to clear the air and try to appease a public who sympathized with Melissa, and to promote the second “After The Final Rose” follow up episode which airs today.

In his defense, Jason Mesnick explained to host Jimmy Kimmel that what we saw on television earlier was not staged. What happened and what he showed were his true feelings despite the cameras.
“First of all, it was my real life and people can question that or doubt that but they’re real feelings. On that last day I was falling in love with two girls but the time.. you don’t know until you go through it.”

The Bachelor Jason Mesnick said he fell in love with two girls at the same time and thought he had made the right decision in picking Melissa. But once he realized that he had made a mistake, he had no choice but to correct it and pick Molly Malaney. “I had to do it. Before we walked out for the After the Final Rose, we were not together. … She knew exactly what was going on but we could not see each other before that so we had to have the conversation on the phone. …So I had to do it in front of everybody. And I hated that. If I could have done it, you know with her in person one on one, of course that’s the right thing to do. But my relationship was agreed by everybody involved to be done in front of everybody else.”

Let us see what happens when the second “After the Final Rose” airs tonight.

Jason Mesnick on Jimmy Kimmel/The Bachelor on Jimmy Kimmel

Jason Mesnick proposed to Melissa Rycroft, a 25 year old Dallas native. He then revealed on “After the Final Rose” that the chemistry changed with Melissa over the weeks after the end of the show, and that he still loves the runner-up, Molly Malaney. Melissa was brought out, he broke up with her, and she returned the engagement ring. Molly was then brought out, he asked for another chance with her, and she accepted. Jason was recently a guest on “Jimmy Kimmel” and explained what happened behind the scenes. He told Jimmy that the chemistry was different between him and Melissa. Jimmy asked Jason why he proposed marriage to Melissa and Jason replied that Melissa was exactly what he wanted at the time, but he did not want to lead Melissa on. Jason also revealed on “Jimmy Kimmel” that before the “After the Final Rose”, Jason already had revealed to Melissa that he wanted to break up with her.

Phoebe Snow DNA test: is Phoebe Snow African American?

Is Phoebe Snow African American? That’s what DNA tests will reveal after Phoebe Snow opted to trace her lineage and prove that she is not African American. Not that there’s nothing wrong with having that lineage but I think she just wants to set the records straight after that has been put into question almost throughout her career. Most recently, Phoebe Snow was named as one of New Jersey’s “black music industry greats” in a local magazine, along with Stevie Wonder, George Benson and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

Phoebe Snow tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, “I was peeing in my pants laughing (at the magazine). I was like, this is fantastic, to be in such great company.” She adds, “Believe me, people have been asking me about this since I started in the recording industry. My mom was the whitest, alabaster-skinned person you can imagine, but who knows what went on four generations ago? So this mitochondrial DNA test should settle it.” For more on Phoebe Snow, here is a excerpt of an entry on her from Wikipedia. You can also visit the official Phoebe Snow website for more info.

Born in New York City, Snow was raised in a household where Delta blues, Broadway show tunes, Dixieland jazz, classical music and folk music recordings were played around the clock. Her father, Merrill Laub, was an exterminator by trade and her mother, Lili, was a dance teacher who died of bone cancer. She grew up in Teaneck, New Jersey and graduated from Teaneck High School. As a teenager, Phoebe Snow carried her prized Martin 00018 acoustic guitar from club to club around Greenwich Village, playing and singing on amateur nights. Her stage name is the same as a fictional advertising character created in the early 1900s for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, a young woman named Phoebe Snow, who appeared on boxcars traveling near her hometown. She changed her name from Phoebe Laub to Phoebe Snow.

She was briefly married to Phil Kearns, and, in December 1975, gave birth to a severely brain-injured daughter, Valerie. Snow resolved not to institutionalize her but instead care for her at home, which she did until Valerie died on March 18, 2007 at the age of 31. Phoebe Snow’s efforts to care for Valerie greatly and negatively affected her professional career, nearly ending it; it also adversely affected her personal life.

Snow continues to take voice lessons, and she studies opera informally. She resides in Fort Lee, New Jersey.

Paul Schene video: Deputy Paul Schene beating teenage girl

Who is Paul Schene? Why is everyone searching for him online? Paul Schene is a King County sheriff’s deputy infamous for beating a 15 year old girl, and it’s all caught on video! The incident happened in November of last year after the girl was brought in by police on auto theft investigation. However, as the tape clearly shows, she was beaten – kicked and punched – as another police officer just stood there and did nothing to to stop it. He even aided the deputy in the assault. Authorities released the surveillance tape last week in the assault case filed against Paul Schene who is accused of using excessive for on the victim. Schene
pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The 15 year old girl complained of breathing difficulty after the incident and the beating might have caused this. Posted below is a copy of the surveillance tape in the police station. It clearly shows the girl being beaten helplessly by a police officer later identified as Paul Schene. Though Schene contends that he was assaulted by the girl by kicking her shoe at him and because she failed to comply with procedures, the amount of brutality that she got in return is no justification for that. Read more about this incident and the case Schene is facing at Huffington Post. An except of their entry is posted below.

In the video, a deputy kicks the girl, pushing her back toward the wall. The deputy then strongly backs the girl against the wall, and slams her to the floor by grabbing her hair. A second deputy enters the holding cell, while the first deputy holds the girl face down to the floor. The first deputy appears to hit the girl with his hands. The girl is then lifted up and led out of the cell while the first deputy holds her hair.

The second officer shown in the video was a trainee at the time and is not under investigation, Goodhew said.

According to court documents, the girl complained of breathing problems after the incident and medics were called to check her. A short time later, she was taken to a youth detention center and booked for investigation of auto theft and third-degree assault, the latter accusation dealing with her conduct toward the deputy. The girl has pleaded not guilty to taking a motor vehicle without permission, Goodhew said Friday, adding she was never formally charged with assault.
