ack Bauer is back! 24 Redemption is finally here. After months of waiting, aggravated by the writers' strike, the prequel to season 7 of 24 has finally been shown. Jack Bauer, seeking peace from his personal turmoil, ends up in Africa. However, the peace that he was looking for was short-lived as he becomes embroiled in a military coup.

Originally written as part of season 7, this idea was scrapped as this would mean that the show would depart from its real-time format once Jack Bauer went back to the United States - a fifteen-hour flight. The idea of making a prequel then materialized but with the initial title
of '24: Exile'
