Criminal Lawyers
May 30th
We always desire to have the best of everything, the best that our money can buy. Be it in cars, houses, electronics, clothes and any other item that we can our hands on. Part of human nature, I guess. But these are merely material possessions that will disappear or fade away in time.
The same value we bestow on material things should also be applied to others aspects of our life that are more important but take for granted. Freedom is one of them, and we should guard it with the best possible means. When our freedom is threatened by legal problems there should be no second thought about doing everything, and getting the best protection we can get.
In Southern California, there are many law firms to go to when seeking legal help but one of the best is Criminal Attorneys Los Angeles | Southern California DUI, Felony, Misdemeanor Lawyers. It is a law firm composed of former district attorneys, a legal “dream team” of sorts, that will definitely help its clients get the best legal protection.

Getting Rid of Fire Ants | iNewsCatcher
May 29th
The sting of a fire ant may be one of the most painful of any insect, a sensation similar to what one feels when burned by fire — hence the name fire ant. I should know for I have been bitten more than once while walking through our extended garden. I accidentally stepped on their mound while I was busy talking on my mobile phone one early evening and, before I knew it, they were on attack mode aiming for my feet. They were furious! Lucky, I only had a few bites since the insect repellent I applied against mosquitoes worked against them as well. Whew, thank God for that!
I immediately went into the house, took a can of bug spray and drenched their mound with it. I decimated the colony (or so I thought) only to find them in another area of the garden several days later. I later realized that fireants are hardy insects, able to retreat to their underground shelter for protection, and fight another day. So if you think you can lick such a
problem, think again. Look for a professional to do it for you or else face the possibility of a second (or even third) attack by these nasty stingers.

Chewable Bad Breath Solution | iNewsCatcher
May 25th
Are you looking for a solution to bad breath? Listen to this. Magnolia bark extract – a traditional Chinese medicine – may be the newest weapon in the war on bad breath. Chewing gum maker Wrigley has added a bit of this germ-killing compound to their Eclipse gum and mints. The hope is to not simply mask bad breath, as most strongly flavored mints and gums do, but to kill odor-causing bacteria.
Magnolia bark extract has long been a staple of traditional Chinese medicine. It is used to treat fever, headache and stress, and has proven effective against germs that cause ulcers. Most bad breath occurs when bacteria in the mouth break down proteins, producing foul-smelling sulfur compounds. But many antimicrobial agents cause nasty side effects like tooth staining, making them impractical for oral care.
According to research published last year, researchers in Wrigley’s lab tested magnolia bark extract on cultures of three types of oral microorganisms. The extract killed 99.9
percent of the microorganisms within five minutes.
In a study of nine volunteers who chewed the mints after lunch, they killed off more than 61 percent of the germs that cause bad breath within 30 minutes — which is comparable to some commercial mouthwashes. Mints without the extract were only 3.6 percent effective. Gum with the extract took a bit longer to kill oral bacteria. The extract also helped kill a group of bacteria that causes tooth decay.

Another ‘Pinoy Pride’ Moment
May 24th
I know American Idol season 7 is over and much have been said and written about it, but please allow me to squeeze this in.
Renaldo Lapuz. I had almost forgotten about him. He who was the ’sensation’ of the eliminations, the pride of Pinoys. He who made many Filipinos squirm in embarrassment at first upon seeing his antics broadcast worldwide. He who composed and sang that ridiculously popular ‘We are Brothers Forever’ entry, producing countless versions and remixes in the process. He who captured the Pinoy’s attention even before Ramiele Malubay entered the scene. Yup, and somehow I predicted in one of my comments somewhere that I felt he would be given a spot in the finale.
I was right! There he was on stage in the Kodak Theater, singing his (in)famous composition with gusto, eliciting both laughter and awe from a worldwide audience. I couldn’t help but feel proud. Sure, his was considered a weird act, feathers and all. But it
was a well-applauded act as well. He made us laugh, he made Paula and Randy dance, and yes he made us proud.
Thank you, Renaldo.

The Longest Line
May 24th
Now here is another tag from Teacher Julie, called the Longest Line meme. All you have to do is add your link below to truly make this the longest line of links in the blogosphere. This will create inbound links to your site and increase your Technorati Authority.
Rule: Copy the entire list and add your name below the person who tagged you. Then tag at least 5 friends (But you can tag as many as you like) and visit their blog to let them know you tagged them.
*Here’s your spot!*
I am tagging no one in particular at the moment but feel free to grab this meme to increase your inbound links and Technorati Authority. Believe me, it works. Just tag as many as you can so that its networking effect will be maximized. I have done a number of this in my other blog and they have greatly helped that site gain readership and links. I am now pushing for the same effect on this blog. Hopefully I will be successful again with your help.
Once I have decided on who to tag I will update this post. Enjoy!

Pinoy Talents Shine
May 18th
Filipino talents continue to shine in the international arena. Firstly, Ferdie Aunzo and Cyna Rodriguez completed their sweep of the men’s and ladies divisions in the ninth Karambunai Amateur Open in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. Tonton Asistio and Anya Tanpinco also capped the RP golfers’ romp by finishing second in both divisions.
Nicholas Fung, Malaysia’s top amateur, lost his bid in the face of the Filipinos’ solid windup, fumbling with a 78 and finishing in joint third at 226 with Taiwanese Chin Jun Nian, who carded a 74.
The rare 1-2 finishes by the Filipinos in both divisions underscored their readiness for the Sabah tilt and the Malaysian Amateur Open set next week, where a tougher field is expected
to see action.
Another feather in our cap is the news that the Philippine powerlifting team captured a total of 20 gold medals at the Asian Powerlifting Championship in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Leading the charge for the RP team was world-record holder Elina “Lily” Pecante who powered her way to four gold medals. Pecante led the Philippine offensive with a sweep of all her events in the Women’s 90-kilogram Masters I class, winning the Asian Best Lifter award and smashing the Asian Masters record in the bench press with 275 pounds. Pecante’s teammates Merly Medina (Women’s 56-kg Masters I class) and Tony Taguibao (Men’s 56-kg Masters II class) also bagged four gold medals.
The three were the most bemedaled powerlifters of the Philippine team that battled 15 other powerhouse teams from Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Oman, United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan and host nation Uzbekistan.
The competition was held at the Gymnasium Hall of Hotel Uzbekistan, with the Philippines demonstrating it has emerged as a force to reckon with in the international powerlifting arena.
To our triumphant compatriots. thanks your for giving us something to be proud of.
